The last two Sundays we have looked at 'Thanking God' - 4th August was entitled 'Thank God for Holidays' based around Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all you who are weary and I shall give you rest'.
Kim Thorogood, a Reception Class Teacher from George Carey Primary School, very kindly lent us the sand pit holder from her classroom and Jo Jackson, Year 1 Teacher, lent us pictures and words relating to the seaside - this enabled us to portray a seaside scene and for the younger church members the opportunity to play in the sand. http://365project.org/majorjudy/365/2013-08-06

On Friday, 9th August at the Rivergate Centre - a local resident (Donna Crane) with the help of Tracy (Rivergate Centre) and Judy (Rivergate Church) hosted a Hawaiian Community Event for all residents and this was funded by Southern Housing. http://365project.org/majorjudy/365/2013-08-09
Roughly 400 people came enjoyed food, fun and fellowship. It was from this that the theme arose for the Sunday Service.
Sunday, 11th August we looked at the 'Wedding in Cana' John 2:1-11 and our theme, on this occasion was 'Thank God for Parties'. We were able to reuse some of the decorations from the Hawaiian event and reminded ourselves that Jesus is present at all events in our lives.
