Knit and Knatter session this morning - two new mums came along with their children. A good morning, although a lot quieter due to the holidays; however, it gave mAnother ore opportunities to knatter with the mums :))

In partnership with The Rivergate Centre and Make:Good - we have been holding Knit and Knatter Sessions and these will continue on a Tuesday morning between 9-11.30am during August. The mornings have been a great success and it has been encouraging to welcome experts, beginners and children - all enjoying knitting and knattering - so if you are in the area then please join us :)) We joined the Creekmouth Preservation Society today as they contributed to The Thames Ward map by telling Amy, Catherine and Tom (Make:Good) stories about the Creekmouth Village and helped to mark difference aspects of the village on the map. We also had the opportunity to stensil pictures of airplanes using an old Adana printing machine. This photo shows Janine in action... The Thames Ward map will eventually be displayed in the Rivergate Centre in September. For more information on The Creekmouth Preservation Society click here For more information on Make:Good and The Thames Ward project click here Yesterday - Janine and Judith had the privilege of sharing in the Year 6 Leavers Assembly, which was held inside the Rivergate Church. It was quite an emotional event as it also marked the end of the first academic year for the George Carey Church of England Primary School, which only opened last September 2011, and the first Year 6 to leave the school. It was also encouarging to see so many parents in attendance, to the hear the choir sing and to give thanks to God for the end of a eventful 1st year. We now look forward to September 2012... |
