'I don't believe it', the well known catch phrase from Victor Meldrew, is actually my sentiments as we conclude our first week back at school of year three. Where has the time gone?
I recall saying last year how amazed I was at the sudden growth spurt of the children during the summer holidays and, this year, is no exception as - once again, we welcome new nursery members, watch with pride as the old nursery are now reception and reception turn into year 1 and year 1 leap up to year two.
We have also welcomed new members of staff and our team is growing and growing - more names for me to remember or forget!! and it is taking longer to visit each classroom first thing in the morning. We have also welcomed new children into the school and now have three year 2 classes. It was quite evident how we have grown this year when we had difficultly fitting everyone into Friday's Achievement Assembly :)
Riverside School have now left us and have taken up residence in their temporary new building on Thames Road. Oh my how strange it is without them; however, when I wander up to the area they once occupied then I can still see and hear the children in their classes and on the landing.
It has been a good but long and tiring week for everyone - but well done everyone for our first week back :))
