I (Judy) had the pleasure today to attend the Eid in the Park event organized by the Riverside Muslim Association (RMA). It was held in the Astro Turf (men's prayer area) and Netball Court (women's prayer area) location of the Rivergate Centre/George Carey CofE Primary school. It was a particular pleasure because it gave me the opportunity to 'meet and greet' so many people who I would normally 'meet and greet' in the playground during school time.
In the photo is Khushnood Ahmed who has worked tirelessly to set up the RMA and this event. Also present is Mr. Abdul who is a local resident and also a member of the RMA.

I had the opportunity to join the ladies in their prayer area and it was a honour to be with them. It was, I understand, the first time that the ladies had been able to pray together and also in close proximity of the men.
It was also a joy to see so many of the school children all dressed up for this occasion and, like all children, enjoying the bouncy castle, sweets and generally enjoying each other's company.
